Microsoft has officially released Dynamics GP 18.9, delivering a collection of new enhancements focused on reporting transparency, workflow efficiency, auditability, and day-to-day usability. Many of these improvements were driven directly by feedback from the GP community and provide meaningful value for organizations continuing to invest in Dynamics GP.

This latest release introduces enhanced SmartList activity tracking, improved workflow management, stronger audit controls for voided transactions, Management Reporter fixes, and additional usability improvements designed to help finance and operations teams work more efficiently.

What's New In Dynamics GP 18.9 (GP 2027)?

Enhanced SmartList Activity Tracking: Administrators can now view who last modified a SmartList, when changes were made, and additional activity details, making SmartList management and cleanup easier.

Payables Void Reason Codes: Organizations can now capture optional or required reason codes when voiding Payables checks and invoices, improving audit trails and accountability.

Workflow Automation Improvements: Purchase Order workflows can now automatically complete when a PO is cancelled, reducing manual administration and workflow maintenance.

Workflow Notification Enhancements: Improved workflow notifications help keep approvers informed when actions are completed by other users.

Management Reporter Compatibility Updates: Updates to Management Reporter improve compatibility and help ensure continued access to critical financial reporting capabilities.

Multi-Company Identification Enhancement: Company database identifiers (INTERID) are now displayed alongside company names, making it easier to distinguish between multiple Dynamics GP environments.

Previous Dynamics GP Versions

Microsoft Dynamics GP Version: 18.8 (GP 2026)

For the October release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 (GP 2026), here are the exciting features that were created based on request by the larger GP community.

Version Compatibility Enhancement: Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 now supports SQL Server 2025 and Windows Server 2025. (SQL has 5-year mainstream support and 5-years extended support = up to 10 years).

Critical System Enhancement: System compatibility and security have been improved with support for TLS 1.3, .NET Framework 4.7.2, and Visual Studio 2019, helping future-proof Dynamics GP and reduce vulnerabilities.

Email Settings and Reporting Tools Setup – Power BI: Sensitive data such as client secrets for email and Power BI integrations are now encrypted in the Dynamics.dic file, enhancing data security and requiring users to re-enter credentials after upgrading.

Sales Order Processing Required Field Message: The error message for missing required fields in Sales Order Processing now provides clearer guidance, instructing users to expand sales lines to populate fields like Site ID and Price List.

Payables Setup Vendor Class Roll Down: When modifying Vendor Class ID, the system now defaults the roll-down prompt to "No," reducing accidental changes to vendor records.

Luxury Auto Depreciation Display and Edit: A new table automatically stores annual IRS depreciation limits for luxury vehicles, allowing users to view, manage, and edit these values directly in the Fixed Assets module.

Sales Order Batches Navigation List: A dedicated navigation list for Sales Order Batches enables users to quickly view, filter, and manage batches, improving visibility and productivity for high-volume sales operations.

Summary of Table Changes: A new system table (FA03600) has been added to store luxury auto depreciation limits by year.
