The New Dynamics GP 18.8 (GP 2026)

The next version of Dynamics GP has arrived and our GP Support Team consultants can hardly keep in their excitement! For the October release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 (GP 2026), here are the exciting features that were created based on request by the larger GP community.
- Version Compatibility Enhancement: Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 now supports SQL Server 2025 and Windows Server 2025. (SQL has 5-year mainstream support and 5-years extended support = up to 10 years).
- Critical System Enhancement: System compatibility and security have been improved with support for TLS 1.3, .NET Framework 4.7.2, and Visual Studio 2019, helping future-proof Dynamics GP and reduce vulnerabilities.
- Email Settings and Reporting Tools Setup – Power BI: Sensitive data such as client secrets for email and Power BI integrations are now encrypted in the Dynamics.dic file, enhancing data security and requiring users to re-enter credentials after upgrading.
- Sales Order Processing Required Field Message: The error message for missing required fields in Sales Order Processing now provides clearer guidance, instructing users to expand sales lines to populate fields like Site ID and Price List.
- Payables Setup Vendor Class Roll Down: When modifying Vendor Class ID, the system now defaults the roll-down prompt to "No," reducing accidental changes to vendor records.
- Luxury Auto Depreciation Display and Edit: A new table automatically stores annual IRS depreciation limits for luxury vehicles, allowing users to view, manage, and edit these values directly in the Fixed Assets module.
- Sales Order Batches Navigation List: A dedicated navigation list for Sales Order Batches enables users to quickly view, filter, and manage batches, improving visibility and productivity for high-volume sales operations.
- Summary of Table Changes: A new system table (FA03600) has been added to store luxury auto depreciation limits by year.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.5.xx (GP 2023)
- GP 18.5 now supports Windows 11, SQL Server 2022, and Windows Server 2022. BUT drops SQL Server 2014 as a supported database.
- With GP 18.5, you can now choose to Filter selected Navigation Lists by Batch ID or Batch Source as well as add the display to the navigation list information.
- Enhanced ‘redisplay’ function within the Chequebook Balance Inquiry window (Checkbook) when doing a Bank Reconciliation
- You can choose to have Dynamics GP post an EFT or Credit Card batch in summary to Bank Reconciliation
- Print and Email POP Documents at the same time
- Auto Post a batch once the Email Approval Workflow is completed
- Users can change the sort for the Account Category Lookup and Search
- Print or email Cash Receipts documents
- Set a scheduled time to run Checklinks
